Ukraine harvests 3.4 million tons of corn, average yields increase nationwide
As of October 9, growers in Ukraine harvested 3.4 million tons of new-season corn, covering only 15% of the total area. At the same time, the country’s average yield has risen to 5.4 tons per hectare, according to data from the Ministry of Economy.
In total, 33 million tons of grain have been harvested in Ukraine so far, from 67% of the planted area.
In particular:
- Wheat — 22.5 million tons harvested (harvesting completed), average yield – 4.5 t/ha
- Barley — 5.3 million tons (completed), 3.96 t/ha
- Peas — 626,600 tons (completed), 2.36 t/ha
- Corn — 3.4 million tons (15%), 5.4 t/ha (up from 5.08 t/ha last week)
Oilseed crops harvested so far:
- Rapeseed — 3.3 million tons (completed), 2.6 t/ha
- Soybeans — 2.7 million tons (56%), 2.28 t/ha
- Sunflower — 6.3 million tons (66.8%), 1.85 t/ha
Agrarians have also dug up 3.4 million tons of sugar beets (35%) with an average yield of 49.8 t/ha.
