Vessel damaged at one of Odesa region’s ports following Russian attack

On the night of December 23, Russia carried out another large-scale attack using drones on the southern part of Odesa region, said Oleg Kiper, Head of the Odesa Region Military Administration.

Damage was recorded in the affected areas to energy, port, transport, industrial, and residential infrastructure.

As a result of the strikes, a civilian dry bulk vessel and a warehouse facility were damaged in one of the districts.

UPDATED at 11:35 a.m. Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine — Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, stated that as a result of a night attack in the port of Odesa, a civilian vessel sailing under the Lebanese flag, transporting Ukrainian soybeans, was damaged. There were no casualties.

  • On December 12, Russia launched missile and Shahed drone attacks on civilian port infrastructure in Odesa region. The ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk were hit, and a fire broke out at grain storage facilities following the strike on the Port of Odesa.
  • On December 19, Russia struck port infrastructure in Odesa region again, killing eight people and injuring 27 others.
  • On December 20, a Russian attack damaged the Allseeds vegetable oil transshipment terminal, resulting in the loss of thousands of tons of sunflower oil. One person was killed.
  • On the night of December 22, Russia once again targeted the port of Pivdennyi. The strike caused a fire at the port, setting flour and vegetable oil ablaze.
