Astarta finishes sugar production season with output close to last year’s level

Astarta-Kyiv has completed its 2025 sugar production season, which became the company’s 26th campaign.

During the season, Astarta’s five sugar plants produced 361 thousand tons of beet sugar — a figure close to the 2024 result of 380 thousand tons. In total, the facilities processed more than 2.3 million tons of sugar beets grown on the agro-industrial holding’s own fields as well as in partnership with farmers.

“The season was marked by high product quality that meets the strictest market requirements. The company’s partners include leading global brands with elevated standards for raw materials,” the company said.

The sugar recovery rate reached 15.56%, exceeding last year’s level of 14.96% and surpassing the national average of 15.19%, according to the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine “Ukrsugar” as of January 1, 2026.

The company noted that the season was challenging, primarily due to persistent rainfall.
