Poland retained its status as Ukraine’s largest supplier of agricultural products in 2025, increasing exports by 24% to $1.15 billion, according to Bohdan Dukhnytskyi, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Agrarian Economics, citing data from the State Customs Service.
According to him, Poland has ranked first among agricultural suppliers to Ukraine since 2017. In 2024, shipments totaled $925 million, rising to $1.151 billion in 2025.
Overall, European Union countries remain the primary source of agri-food imports to Ukraine. In 2025, supplies from the EU increased by nearly 15% to $4.91 billion, accounting for 53.9% of total agricultural imports.
In addition to Poland, the largest suppliers of agricultural products to Ukraine in 2025 were Germany ($692 million), Turkey ($654 million), Italy ($575 million), and the Netherlands ($417 million).
In total, Ukraine imported $9.12 billion worth of agricultural products in 2025, up 13% year-on-year. This marks the highest level of food imports since the country gained independence.
The import structure continues to be dominated by fruit, fish and seafood, beverages, cocoa products, animal feed, coffee, and spices. Together, these categories accounted for about 70% of the total value of agricultural imports.
