French company receives €0.5 million grant to forecast grain yields in Ukraine
EarthDaily has received a €480,000 grant from the French government to help Ukraine improve agricultural monitoring.
The project will be implemented through the French company GEOSYS, which is part of EarthDaily.
It involves developing a system that will enable in-season assessment of crop areas and yield forecasting across Ukraine’s regions. This will help the government better track developments in the agricultural sector and make faster, more informed decisions.
The project will rely on satellite data and artificial intelligence models. Key crops to be analyzed include wheat, barley, rapeseed, sunflower, and corn.
According to the company, such tools make it possible to obtain near real-time insights into crop conditions, which is critical for food security and market stability.
The project is designed to run for several years. As part of it, regular reports on crop areas, yields, and production by region will be produced.
The grant was approved in November 2025, and the implementation is coordinated by the French public institution BPI France with support from the French Embassy in Ukraine.
