TAS Agro to expand sunflower and corn acreage, cut soybean area by nearly 70%

TAS Agro has launched its 2026 sowing campaign. Farms in the Southern cluster were the first to enter the fields, supported by favourable weather conditions.

In the new season, the company is revising its crop structure. In particular, sunflower acreage is set to increase to 24,000 hectares (+35%), while corn will expand to 9,800 hectares (+20%).

At the same time, the soybean area has been significantly reduced by 67%, to 5,200 hectares.

The company explains the shift by noting that sunflowers and corn currently offer more stable production economics and allow for better cost control.

“We are entering the new season with a clear understanding of our priorities: efficiency, quality, and stable results. Despite all the challenges, the team is working in a coordinated and confident manner to ensure a high yield,” said Vitalii Vanchuliak, Director of the Production Department at TAS Agro.

This year, the company is also testing a new crop for the first time — oil flax. For now, it is being sown on limited acreage, but is considered a promising direction for the future.
