Kernel processed nearly 1 million tons of oilseeds in Q3 and increased grain intake at elevators by 1.5x
Kernel increased oilseed processing, edible oil sales, and transshipment in the third quarter of FY2026, while grain exports were constrained by slow farmer selling and rising costs, the company reported in its operational update.
In January–March 2026, Kernel processed 986 thousand tons of oilseeds, up 17% year-on-year. The main driver was improved availability and higher procurement of sunflower seed on the domestic market.
Edible oil sales in Q3 FY2026 totalled 373 thousand tons (+7% YoY), in line with processing dynamics. Of this, 19 thousand tons were bottled sunflower oil.
Grain intake at elevators reached 511 thousand tons during the reporting period. For the first nine months of the financial year, the figure amounted to 4 million tons, up 50% year-on-year. The increase was partly driven by a change in the crop mix: in 2025, the share of corn in the company’s portfolio rose to 48%, compared to 24% a year earlier.
Grain exports from Ukraine in Q3 stood at 1.5 million tons, remaining flat quarter-on-quarter. Performance was affected by restrained farmer selling, as well as power supply constraints and rising logistics costs.
Transshipment volumes at the company’s export terminals totalled 2.6 million tons in Q3 (+4% YoY and +6% QoQ). Grains accounted for the bulk of volumes (73%), followed by oil (14%), with the remainder being meal.
