Continental offers employees the opportunity to buy land plots sold by company’s lessors

Continental Farmers Group provides its employees with an opportunity to purchase land plots that the company’s lessors have decided to sell, the company’s CEO, Georg von Nolcken, said at the Grain Ukraine 2026 international conference.

According to him, since the opening of Ukraine’s farmland market in 2021, the company has not observed any large-scale sale of land shares in the country’s western regions. Landowners generally sell their plots due to personal circumstances rather than a desire to quickly cash out.

Von Nolcken noted that a company with foreign capital cannot directly acquire ownership of agricultural land in Ukraine. However, it can inform employees about such opportunities.

“We give our employees the opportunity to buy land with their own money. It is a good investment model,” he said.

According to the top manager, the company initially had some concerns about the effectiveness of this approach, but the model has proven successful.

He added that the opportunity to invest in farmland has become an additional tool for employee motivation and retention. The practice is available not only to executives and middle managers but also to other company employees.
