Sugar plant in Khmelnytskyi region to install unique equipment first in Ukraine

Starokostiantyniv sugar plant, part of ASPIK GROUP and located in Ukraine’s Khmelnytskyi region, is constructing a continuous vacuum crystallizer — the first installation of its kind in the country, the company announced on Facebook.

A vacuum crystallizer is one of the key components in sugar production. It is the unit where sugar syrup is transformed into massecuite, a mixture of sugar crystals and mother liquor.

Operating under vacuum reduces the boiling temperature of the syrup, helping preserve product quality and prevent overheating.

Unlike conventional batch crystallizers, the new vacuum crystallizer will operate continuously: syrup will be fed into the unit on an ongoing basis, while the finished massecuite will be discharged continuously.

According to the company, the new technology will ensure a more stable production process, uniform crystal formation, and more efficient use of energy resources.
