Ukraine's 2026 harvest: Early grains harvested from 22% of area, rapeseed reaches 41%

As of July 28, growers across all regions of Ukraine harvested 2.6 million hectares, or 22% of the forecast area for early grain and leguminous crops, producing 10.65 million tons of the 2026 harvest, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

The ministry reported the following harvest progress:

• Wheat: harvested from 1.532 million ha (30% of the forecast area), with production reaching 6.61 million tons at an average yield of 4.32 t/ha.
• Barley: harvested from 790,000 ha (53%), with output of 3.49 million tons at an average yield of 4.42 t/ha.
• Peas: harvested from 279,500 ha (94.6%), producing 549,500 tons at an average yield of 1.97 t/ha.

The largest volumes of early grain and legume harvest have been recorded in the following regions:

• Odesa region: 2.43 million tons harvested from 586,700 ha, including 1.25 million tons of wheat, 988,900 tonnes of barley, and 184,700 tons of peas.
• Mykolaiv region: 1.80 million tons harvested from 514,100 ha, including 1.15 million tons of wheat, 539,000 tons of barley, and 106,800 tons of peas.
• Dnipropetrovsk region: 1.49 million tons harvested from 376,400 ha, including 1.09 million tons of wheat, 379,000 tons of barley, and 26,800 tons of peas.

Rapeseed harvesting is also underway. Farmers have harvested 539,600 ha, or 41% of the forecast area, producing 1.31 million tons at an average yield of 2.43 t/ha.
