NIBULON purchased 30 Volvo FH Trucks for grain transportation
NIBULON purchased 30 Volvo FH trucks from the Volvo Ukraine company.
New vehicles will transport grain and oilseeds within Mykolaiv region to the nearest river terminal, and then the grain will be transported by water transport, thus substantially decreasing the traffic load on the Ukrainian roads.
On July 18 in the territory of Volvo Ukraine, the keys from Volvo trucks were officially handed.
According to Aleksey Vadatursky, CEO of NIBULON, this was the largest delivery of Volvo FH trucks to Ukraine.
"According to statistics, 75% of trucks in Ukraine are older than 10 years, and only 1% are new vehicles. The bumpy roads get even worse because of old trucks. We decided to upgrade our machinery and purchased 60 new trucks for carrying grain, a half of which are Volvo FH. In fact, this is the largest delivery of Volvo tractors to Ukraine. We chose Volvo because these machines are reliable, hardy and adapted to the Ukrainian roads. In addition, the Volvo Ukraine company offered us a real bargain," says Aleksey Vadatursky.
The purchase of new tractors was carried out under the trade-in program — the Volvo Ukraine company bought old tractors from NIBULON in exchange for the new Volvo FH models. The purchase was financed by Volvo Financial Services Ukraine (VFS Ukraine) which is a part of the Volvo Group.
According to Inna Smola, the Commercial Director of Volvo Ukraine, the cooperation with NIBULON plays an important role in the development of the company.
"The vehicles were specifically designed for the needs of NIBULON. We evaluated the routes and operating conditions and offered the complete set fully adapted not just to the roads of Ukraine, but for those transportations that NIBULON will carry out — a short run from the fields around the river terminals within 80-120 km," she noted.
Aleksey Vadatursky stressed that the company creates an infrastructure in which delivery will be carried out within the region to the nearest river elevator, and then transportation will be by water.
"We have already removed about 2 million tons of grain per year from the roads, and every million tons is a saving of about UAH 800 million for repair of the road coating. We plan to increase the volumes of river transportation to 60% in the system of our logistics and remove 4-5 million tons of grain from the roads. This will allow Ukraine to save up to UAH 4 billion on repair of roads annually," said CEO of NIBULON.
Luc Jacobs, the Ambassador of Belgium to Ukraine, and Henrik Norberg, the Deputy Head of Mission Counsellor of the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine, attended the ceremony of handing the keys. In their opinion, the deal between Volvo Ukraine and NIBULON is of great importance not only for Ukraine but also for Europe.
"This is a successful case not only for Ukraine but for the whole of Europe. After all, it shows that there is international cooperation of business from different European countries. And today's event shows that cooperation between Ukraine, Sweden, and Belgium will contribute to the economic growth of these countries and trade development. Therefore, I congratulate NIBULON and Volvo Ukraine companies with a successful partnership," Luc Jacobs summed up.
