Ukraine in Sep-Jan imported record 7.8k tons of sunflower

Import of sunflower seeds to Ukraine in September-January 2017/18 amounted to record 7.8 thousand tons.

APK-Inform reports that according to the results of the current season, this volume is projected to grow up to 25 thousand tons (+ 7% to the level of 2016/17).

The estimate of the use of sunflower for seeds in 2017/18 is also raised 6.7%, to 32 thousand tons, taking into account the potential increase in the sown area of the oilseed crop in 2018 to 6.4 million hectares.
