Ukrainian meat producers may takeover Brazil's niche in the EU market
One of the largest Brazilian meat producers exits the EU market, which gives the Ukrainian producers a possibility t0 take its place if they promptly respond to the situation, reports Kurkul.com.
"Ukrainian producers have an exceptional opportunity to develop exports to the EU and, in particular, the Netherlands. It takes three days to deliver meat from Ukraine, from Australia — 6 weeks, from South America — 4 weeks," Jochem Versloot, co-owner of Jan Zandbergen company, comments.
Note: BRF S.A., the largest meat producer in Brazil, was forced to leave the EU market. The EC said the ban on imports was related to "deficiencies detected in the Brazilian official control system," Reuters informed.
