Ukraine exported 130k tons of sunflower meal to China in 9M 2017-18

China held the 8th place in the list importers of sunflower meal from Ukraine in the period of September-May of MY2017/18, APK-Inform writes.

Over the 9 months period, 130 thou. tons of Ukrainian sunflower meal were delivered to China, which is 4.2% of the total volume of shipments of this produce.

It is noted that in the future China will increase its share in purchases.

China buys only oil-seed meal, and there is no demand for cake. At the same time, the export of products to the PRC surpassed in terms of volumes and growth rates the traditional sales markets for Ukraine like Spain, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Vietnam, Israel, Egypt, etc.

Previously it was reported that China was trying to reduce dependence on foreign markets by diversifying the supply sources of agricultural produce.
