Flour exports reached the volume of 2016/17

In July-May of MY2017/18, flour exports from Ukraine reached export volumes of the entire MY2016/17 — 406.5 thou. tons compared with 407.6 thou. tons in MY2016/17, UkrAgroConsult reports.

In May of MY2017/18, Ukraine exported 27.9 thou. tons of flour, which is 12% more than the previous month (24.9 thou. tons). However, this is 23% less than in May 2017 (36.1 thou. tons).

Over the analyzed period, major changes in shipments are as follows:

  • the U.A.E. — 42.9 thou. tons (which is 66% more than the supply of the entire MY2016/17);
  • China — 121.2 thou. tons, which is already 49.7% more than for the entire MY2016/17 (80.9 thou. tons);
  • South Korea — dropped to 1.76 thou. tons (against 24.7 thou. tons over the relevant period of MY2017/18).

In January-May, flour production in Ukraine amounted to 704.4 thou. tons, which is 5% less than over the corresponding period last year (743.7 thou. tons). The share of flour export supplies in production volume is about 23%.

Previously it was reported that Ukraine in January-June 2018 had exported 183.58 thou. tons of wheat flour for the amount of USD 41.32 million, which is 13.43 thou. tons less than over the relevant period in 2017.
