Outlook for world total grains production in 2018/19 raised by 12 million tons

According to the International Grains Council (IGC), the outlook for world total grains production in 2018/19 is raised by 12 million tons to 1.064 billion tons.

In 2018/19, maize production is expected to increase by 19 million tons compared to 2017/18 (1,045 billion tons).

At the same time, world maize trade in 2018/19 will amount to 156 million tons, which is 1 million tons more than it was previously forecasted and 5 million tons more than in 2017/18.

Reference: since the beginning of 2018/19, Ukraine has exported 4.59 million tons of grain by August 22, 2018, which is 251 thousand tons less than during the same period last year.
