Ukraine filled 9 EU export quotas

As of September 21, Ukraine has filled nine quotas for duty-free exports of agricultural products within the framework of the free trade zone with the EU, the Agrarian Ministry reports.

"The best confirmation of the fact that the FTA agreement between Ukraine and the EU is working is the constant increase in the volumes of agrarian and food exports. Traditionally, Ukrainian exporters filled 100% of tariff quotas for Ukrainian honey, malt and wheat fiber, processed tomatoes, grape and apple juice, wheat, corn and butter," comments Olga Trofimtseva, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration.

In addition, additional trade preferences, which had been granted in 2017, were used for corn, soft wheat, honey and processed tomatoes.

According to the Deputy Minister, 85% of tariff quotas for Ukrainian starch were used, whereas processed starch — 99.4%, chicken meat — 75%, eggs and albumins — 53.7%, and garlic — 61.2%.

In January-August 2018, Ukraine exported more than 130 million tons of dairy products for the amount of USD 228.3 million, which is USD 17.8 million more y-o-y.
