Ukrainian ports reduced corn shipments 60 pct

In the period of March 2-7, corn shipments from the Ukrainian seaports reduced 60 pct wk/wk to 467 thou.tons, the APK-Inform consultancy reports. The previous week's indicator stands at 1 102 thou. tons.

In total, 593 thou. tons of main grain crops were exported, 54% less than a week earlier (1.276 million tons, taking into account the actualization of data).

Wheat shipments stood at 126 thou. tons (167 thou. tons a week earlier). Barley was not shipped in the reporting period.

The top-3 importers of grain are Iran (139 thou. tons), Egypt (110 thou. tons) and Portugal (79 thou. tons).

The leading position in terms of the transshipment volume of main crops in the current marketing year is held by the port of Mykolaiv (8.3 million tons). The ports of Chernomorsk and Yuzhny provided for the transshipment of 7.2 million tons and 6.2 million tons, respectively.

As previously reported, in 2018 Indonesia had become the largest buyer of Ukrainian wheat with USD 487 million of imports.
