Sunflower oil supplies in Jan-Apr up 15 pct
In January-April 2019, sunflower oil supplies from Ukraine amounted to 2.2 million tons worth USD 1.48 billion. This volume exceeds the prior year's indicator by 15 per cent (2018: 1.9 million tons worth USD 1.49 billion).
By the data of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, the key buyers of the product in the reporting period are as follows:
- India — 850.5 thou. tons (USD 573.3 million);
- China — 235.6 thou. tons (USD 158.8 million);
- the Netherlands — 202.8 thou. tons (USD 136.6 million);
- others — 898.6 thou. tons (USD 605.7 million).
In eight months of 2018/19 (September-April), the export of sunflower oil amounted to 4.15 million tons against 3.71 million tons in 2017/18, having increased by 12 per cent.
