Grain stocks in Ukraine down 10 pct

As of December 1, 2019, stocks of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine amounted to 30.5 mln t, 10.5% (3.56 mln t) less from the volume on the corresponding date a year earlier (34.07 mln t).
Under the data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (SSSU), grain stocks by crops are as followed:
- wheat — 8.09 mln tons (December 1, 2018: 8.74 mln t);
- corn — 19.18 mln t (22.66 mln t);
- barley — 2.166 mln t (1.64 mln t);
- rye — 98.6 thou. t (124.7 thou. t);
- sunflower — 8.02 mln t (7.78 mln tons).
As of December 1, 2019, 18.79 mln t of grain and leguminous crops were stored at agricultural enterprises, and 11.71 mln t — at enterprises specializing in processing and storage.
Ukrainian seaports have shipped 27.69 mln t of staple grains for export since the start of 2019/20. As of December 16th, commodities shipment increased by 6.88 mln t from the comparative period of the previous year.
