Spring wheat harvesting started in US

Spring wheat harvesting was started by the US key producing states as of July 26, the USDA reports.

70% of spring wheat crops are in good and excellent condition (2019: 73%). 97% of crops have come into ear (2019: 96% and 98% average within the last five years).

Winter wheat as of the reporting date was 81% harvested (2019: 73% and 82% average within the last five years).

Corn crops condition on the reporting date:

  • excellent — 17% of plantings (11% in the comparative period of 2019);
  • good — 55% (47%);
  • fair — 21% (30%);
  • poor — 5% (9%);
  • very poor — 2% (3%).

Pursuant to the data of the Harvest Online 2020 project, wheat yields 3.18 t/ha on average in Ukraine.
