Egg production in Jan-Apr scaled down by 14% YoY

Eggs production in Ukraine in January-April 2021 totalled 4.58 bln, 13.8% less YoY (January-April 2020: 5.32 bln), the data of the State Statistics Service show.

Industrial egg production in the reporting period reduced by 21.3%, to 2.45 bln vs. 3.11 bln in 4M 2020. Households cut chicken egg production by 3% YoY, to 2.14 bln (January-April 2020: 2.2 bln).

The major production regions in 4M 2021:

• Kyiv: 1.097 bln (Jan-Apr 2020: 1.129 bln)
• Cherkasy: 269.9 mln (222.1 mln)
• Dnipropetrovsk: 245 mln (250.9 mln)
• Khmelnytsky: 243.6 mln (303.3 mln)
• Vinnytsya: 239.5 mln (301.4 mln)

Egg export from Ukraine amounted to 106.8 thou. t in 12M 2020. The U.A.E. was the key importer in 2020.
