Chornomorsk Port cargo handling in August 18% up YoY, Kernel's TransBulkTerminal accounts for 39%

The Authority of the port of Chornomorsk reports that in August 2021 port operators provided for the transshipment of 2.5 mln t of cargo, 18.4% up YoY, USPA writes on Facebook.

The port operators that handled the largest volumes of cargo in the port in August 2021:

  • TransBulkTerminal (Kernel): 974 thou. t, 38.8% of the total cargo turnover
  • Illichivsk Grain Terminal (Viterra Ukraine): 342 thou. t, 13.6%
  • Chornomorsk Fishing Port: 297 thou. t, 11.8%
  • Sea Commercial Port of Chornomorsk: 271 thou. t, 10.8%

August cargo turnover was formed by:

  • grains: 1.4 mln t, 56.1% of the total shipment volume
  • ore and other bulk commodities: 373 thou. t, 14.9%
  • heavy vehicles: 182 thou. t, 7.2%
  • containers: 109 thou. t, 4.3%
  • bulk vegetable oil: 49 thou. t, 2%

As reported, in August 153 ships were processed at the seaport of Chornomorsk, 10.9% more than during the same period last year.

In 2020, seaports in Ukraine transshipped more than 47 mln t of grain cargo.
