Winter grains 94% planted in Ukraine, rapeseed covers 96% of planned area

Winter crops planting in Ukraine was 94% completed as of November 27, the updated figures by the Agriculture Ministry suggest.

Farms in Ukraine planted 5.96 million hectares of winter crops for the 2024 harvest, representing around 94% of the projected area.

Sown areas by crops:

• winter rapeseed 1.16 mln ha, 96.1%
• winter wheat 4.16 mln ha, 95.6%
• winter barley 558.8 thou. ha, 80.7%
• winter rye 77.2 thou. ha, 95.5%

For the 2023 harvest winter crops area in Ukraine totalled 5.7 mln ha. For 2024 it is projected at 6.34 mln ha.
