Ukraine Govt slashes sugar export quota to EU by nearly tenfold

The Cabinet of Ministers has revised the export quotas for sugar and poultry meat to the European Union, according to Resolution No. 664 dated June 6, 2025, titled "On Amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1481 dated December 24, 2024."

The export quotas have been adjusted as follows:

  • Sugar — 11,000 tonnes (previously 107,200 tonnes, a nearly tenfold decrease),

  • Meat and edible offal of domestic poultry (chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowls) — 51,000 tonnes (previously 55,300 tonnes),

  • Turkey meat and edible turkey offal — 1,400 tonnes (previously 1,500 tonnes).

Licensing for sugar exports will be in effect until August 5, 2025.

Licensing for poultry meat exports will be in effect until December 31, 2025. The quota volume for "Meat and edible offal of domestic poultry" (chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowls) and for "Turkey meat and edible turkey offal" will be distributed as follows:

  • 30,000 tonnes for the period up to September 30, 2025,

  • 22,500 tonnes for the period from October 1 to December 31, 2025.

In early January, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy allocated the export quota volumes for chicken, duck, goose, guinea fowl, and turkey meat and offal.
