Continental Farmers Group to increase grain elevator load in new season

Continental Farmers Group’s grain elevators are getting ready to receive the new harvest, the company said in a statement.

Currently, repair works, comprehensive cleaning, and disinfection of silo bins are being finalized.

Since last season, Continental has been purchasing grain from farmers and offering grain storage and cleaning services. As a result, the operating period of its grain storage facilities has extended from the usual 5–6 months to 11 months per year — from July through May. The only interruptions in operations occur for scheduled dispatch of accumulated volumes and preparation for the upcoming season.

According to Serhii Zymnyi, Head of Finished Product Storage at Continental Farmers Group, last year’s additional load on the company’s storage capacities amounted to 15% of internal volumes. This season, further growth in procurement is expected, with that figure potentially reaching 30–40%.

“We anticipate an intense season with a high workload, especially at our facilities in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, which are currently showing the highest level of procurement activity from third-party suppliers due to market conditions. We plan to ensure uninterrupted intake and dispatch operations by both road and rail, rapid processing of our own grain, and high-quality services for external clients,” Zymnyi noted.

Over the past year, the company has also carried out a large-scale staff training program for lab technicians, engineering and technical specialists, energy engineers, and electricians. This included specialized courses in programming and ergonomic equipment management aimed at reducing energy consumption.
