Alebor Group completes corn and sunflower sowing campaign, plants hybrid demo fields
Alebor Group has completed its corn and sunflower sowing campaign, according to SuperAgronom.com.
This season, the company allocated 2,020 hectares to corn and 3,294 hectares to sunflower. At the same time, Alebor Group established demo fields to test modern hybrids: more than 100 corn hybrids and 75 sunflower hybrids. The corn hybrids are within the FAO maturity range of 280–330.
The company is currently continuing crop care operations for winter crops, which cover around 6,000 hectares.
Alebor Group noted that temperature fluctuations this spring negatively affected the development of winter crops. However, the company says such weather conditions are becoming increasingly typical, forcing growers to adjust crop management technologies in order to avoid damaging crops.
The group also added that moisture shortage remains a separate challenge, with only 15–20 mm of precipitation recorded over the two spring months.
