Continental Farmers Group becomes a standalone business within Olam Agri
Olam Agri has signed an agreement to fully integrate Continental Farmers Group (CFG), one of Ukraine's largest agricultural companies, into its global structure. Continental is currently an indirect subsidiary of the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC).
Continental Farmers Group is the first asset to join Olam Agri's portfolio following SALIC's completion of its acquisition of a controlling stake in Olam Agri in April 2026, marking the company's new phase as a standalone business separate from Olam Group. Upon completion of the transaction, SALIC's shareholding in Olam Agri will increase from 80.01% to 81.81%.
The company said the transaction will not affect Continental's day-to-day operations. Continental will continue operating as a standalone business within Olam Agri, retaining its current management team and pursuing its existing growth strategy while leveraging Olam Agri's global expertise in trading and risk management.
Continental Farmers Group CEO Georg von Nolcken will join Olam Agri's Executive Committee, the company's highest executive decision-making body.
"The integration of Continental Farmers Group significantly strengthens our capabilities in Ukraine and expands our presence in Central and Eastern Europe in line with our strategy of building a sourcing network across key grain export markets. The company enhances our sourcing capabilities through its own agricultural production and domestic logistics infrastructure, strengthens our crop production expertise, and diversifies our business model, which has previously been focused primarily on trading and processing," said Sunny Verghese, Co-Founder and Group CEO of Olam Agri.
Georg von Nolcken, CEO of Continental Farmers Group, said the company's integration into Olam Agri's global structure creates new opportunities for business growth and collaboration across the Group.
"We see this step as an additional catalyst for strengthening our market position and delivering our long-term strategic plans. At the same time, Continental will retain its current management team and operational independence and will continue to determine its own development strategy. For our employees, landowners, customers, business partners, and local communities, we remain the same Continental—a reliable partner that consistently fulfills its commitments and continues investing in the future," he said.
In September 2018, Mriya Farming PLC and SALIC signed a share purchase agreement for the Mriya agroholding. The acquisition of the majority of Mriya's agricultural assets was completed in November of the same year.
In 2019, the companies finalised the integration of their operations and began operating under a single brand, Continental Farmers Group.
