Global wheat production forecast for MY 2017/18 increased by 1.8 MT

The forecast for global wheat production in MY 2017/18 is increased by 1.8 mln tons to 757.01 mln tons as compared to December forecast.

USDA informs that wheat production will increase by 6.57 mln tons (MY 2016/17: 750.44 mln tons).

The forecast for wheat production in Ukraine remains at the level of the previous month — 26.5 mln tons, and exports — 17 mln tons.

According to forecasts, the global wheat export in MY 2017/18 should amount to 180.85 mln tons (December forecast: 182.15 mln tons).

Reference: from the beginning of MY 2017/18, as of January 10, 2018, Ukraine exported more than 21.32 mln tons of grain, which is almost 10% less than over the same period of the previous marketing year (23.67 mln tons).
