Crop 2023: 94% of wheat areas harvested in Ukraine

Early grains and legumes harvest in Ukraine was completed on 6.18 mln ha as of August 17, 37% of the total cropland in 2023. The crops yield 4.41 t/ha on average, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.

Farms have harvested 27.25 million tons of grain, including:

  • wheat: 20.81 mln t on 4.38 mln ha (94%), the avg. yield 4.62 t/ha
  • barley: 5.56 mln t on 1.39 mln ha (94%), 3.98 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.94 mln t on 1.37 mln ha (86%), 2.88 t/ha
  • peas: 379 thou. t on 152.2 thou. ha (101%), 2.49 t/ha

Farmers in 13 regions of Ukraine have completed harvesting rapeseed. Producers in Dnipropetrovsk region have started collecting buckwheat — the first average yield indicators are around 1.13 t/ha.

Peas harvesting has been finalized in 17 regions.
