Global wheat production forecast for MY 2017/18 increased by 3 million tons
Global wheat production forecast for MY 2017/18 increased by 3.23 million tons to 755.21 million tons in comparison to Nevember forecast.
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports that the production of wheat in comparison to MY 2016/17 (753.61 million tons) will decrease by 1.7 million tons.
The forecast of wheat production in Ukraine remains at the level of the previous month — 26.5 million tons (MY 2016/17: 26.8 million tons), and exports forecast is raised to 17 million tons.
According to the forecasts, the global wheat export in MY 2017/18 will make up 182.15 million tons.
Reference: the production of grain and leguminous crops in 2017 is expected to be within 62.3 million tons, with a yield of 4.28 tons/ha.
