Shipment of cargo on the Dnieper in 2017 increased 26%

In 2017, 8.095 million tons of cargo were transported on the Dnieper, which is by 1.7 million tons or 26% more as compared to the previous year. Container turnover on the Dnieper in 2017 increased 13.8% and amounted to 1,948 containers.

UkrAgroConsult notes that the main carriers on the inland waterways of Ukraine remain Ukrrechflot and NIBULON, however they have not yet reported the volumes of transportation in 2017.

Navigation on the Dnieper in 2017 was carried out from late March to December. According to the State Enterprise of Waterways (SEW) Ukrvodshlyakh, the number of vessels that passed the navigation on the Dnieper during the navigation period in 2017 increased 13% to 13,408 as compared to the navigation indicator in 2016: 6.4 million tons of cargo and 1,711 containers.

Earlier it was reported that from the seaports of Ukraine, by the results of 2017, 35.4 million tons of grain were exported, which is 6% below the result a year earlier.
