Work may stop at Ostchem plants because of Ukrzaliznytsia
According to Interfax Ukraine, Ostchem chemical plants may have to stop working in a week if Ukrzaliznytsia persists in its refusal to provide boxcars to ship the company’s products.
“Ukrzaliznytsia stopped providing boxcars a week ago. As a result, products aren’t shipped but stored at the factories. If Ukrzaliznytsia does not resume providing boxcars, the factories’ warehouses will be completely full and the factories will need to stop production,” points out the agency.
Ostchem states that the situation at PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy), and PJSC “Rivneazot” has reached a critical point, whereas production at PRJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” is seriously threatened.
“If the supply of boxcars is not resumed, the fall planting season is at risk. Chemical plants will have to stop production and suffer losses, while farmers will lack necessary fertilizers,” they added at the company.
The daily demand of each plant in boxcars is about 20 units.
The managers of PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy), PJSC “Rivneazot”, and PRJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” addressed a letter to Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and the managers of "Ukrzaliznytsia" calling for immediate action to solve the problem.
