Sugar production in Ukraine 12 pct lower YoY

As of November 28th, plants in Ukraine produced 1.26 mln t of sugar, the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar) informs.

8.37 mln t of sugar beet were processed by the reporting date. 31 plants have started beet sugar production season.

Sugar output in the current production season is by 0.18 mln t or 12.5% lower from the prior year's respective date.

As estimated by the analytical department of Ukrsugar, sugar export in 2019/2020 should reach 300 thou. t.

Sugar beet harvesting in Ukraine by November 27th reached 9.7 mln t. The crop was harvested on 218 thou. ha or 99% of the areas using the average productivity of 44.5 t/ha (2018: 49.4 t/ha).
