Sunflower prices in Ukraine seen improving

Since early January 2020, prices for sunflower in Ukraine have been growing, the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

"This trend is stipulated by persisting high competition between processing enterprises amid an insufficient number of offers in the post-holiday period," the report reads.

Further support for prices was also provided by the prior increase in the price of finished products for export.

As of Jan.15, at the beginning of the day, the demand prices vary mainly in the range of 9.500-10.500 UAH/t CPT, which is on average UAH 500 higher than in late December.

In December 2019, the export of refined sunflower oil from Ukraine equalled 70 thou. t thus reaching a record high monthly volume of the shipment.
