Staple grains stocks in Ukraine down 18%
Grains and pulses stocks in Ukraine as of September 1 dropped to 17.24 mln t, 18% or 3.87 mln t lower YoY (21.11 mln t), the data of the State Statistics Service show.
Wheat stocks in the reporting period decreased by 18% to 12.63 mln t. In addition, at the enterprises engaged in storage and processing, grain reserves amounted to 3.7 mln t, and at agricultural producers 8.92 mln t.
According to statistical data, corn stocks were 22% lower from last year's and amounted to 1.13 mln t (Sep 1, 2019: 1.27 mln t), including 960.4 thou. t accumulated by agricultural producers, at enterprises engaged in storage and processing 167.1 mln t.
Barley stocks in Ukraine in the reporting period reduced by 11% from last year's and amounted to 2.61 mln t: at the enterprises engaged in storage and processing, stocks of barley amounted to 964.7 thou. t, and at agricultural producers' facilities 1.64 thou. t.
Rye stocks increased by 74% to 236.5 thou. t: 91.9 thou. t at specialized storage facilities and 144.6 thou. t at agricultural producers' storages.
Sunflower reserves stood at 809.7 thou. t (Sep 1, 2019: 1.52 mln t) or 2% lower, including 612 thou. t stored by agricultural producers, and 197.7 thou. t at enterprises engaged in storage and processing.
Soybean stocks in Ukraine as of September 1, 2020, dropped by 43% YoY to 245.5 thou. t. On the reporting date last year, soybean stocks totalled 573.4 thou. t. Agricultural enterprises stored 203.1 thou. t. Enterprises specializing in processing and storage kept 42.4 thou. t of the oilseed crop.
Rapeseed stocks decreased by 22% to 1.14 mln t (Sep 1, 2019: 1.3 mln t): 788.4 thou. t at specialized storage facilities and 349.8 thou. t at agricultural producers' storages.
Since the start of 2020/21 as of Sep. 18, staple grains export shipment from Ukraine reached 10.33 mln t. Agricultural commodities shipment dropped by 1.17 mln t (10%) from the prior year's comparative period, 11.5 mln t.
