As of November 30, the construction of a new berth 1-z in Odesa Sea Port is 93% completed, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reports.

The Ministry continues cooperation with international financial organizations to implement local investment projects of state enterprises.

Construction of berth 1-z is a part of a large investment project implemented by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) together with the companies Brooklyn-Kyiv and Louis Dreyfus Company Ukraine with the assistance of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The total investment is more than USD 100 mln, and the designed capacity of the berth is 4 mln t per year. Once completed, the facility will be 254 m long, 35 m wide and 12 m deep near the border with a perspective of up to 13.5 m. These parameters will be enough to receive 60 thou. t Panamax vessels and more.

"By the end of 2020, it is planned to complete the installation of engineering communications at the facility and move to obtaining documents for the berth commissioning," said the General Manager of Odesa Sea Port authority Ruslan Sahautdinov.

As a reminder, in autumn 2018, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Louis Dreyfus Holding B.V. Margarita Louis-Dreyfus announced the company's investment plans in Ukraine, including a grain terminal in Odesa port.
