Vinnytsya region harvested its first million tons of new crop

Farms of Vinnytsya region harvested 184 thou. ha, 43% of the proj. area, of early grains and legumes. Agriproducers reported more than one million tons of new crop grain, the average yield made up 5.56 t/ha, Vinnytsya Region State Administration informs.

In the region, winter barley harvesting is almost completed using the average yield of 5.6 t/ha, 1.07 t/ha higher than last year, and winter rye average yield reaches 4.23 t/ha, up by 1.25 t/ha from 2020.

As of 30 July, the structure of crops harvested is as follows:

  • winter wheat: 668 thou. t, 36% of the proj. areas, avg. yield of 5.88 t/ha (1.49 t/ha above last year's)
  • spring wheat: 34% of the proj. areas, 5.05 t/ha (1.27 t/ha above 2020)
  • spring barley: 43% of the proj. areas, 4.62 t/ha (0.85 t/ha above 2020)
  • peas: 53% of the proj. areas, 2.89 t/ha (flat on 2020)

"On the reporting date, winter rapeseed was harvested on 59% of areas, 36.4 thou. ha. The crop yielded 106 thou. t using the average yield of 2.91 t/ha, 0.14 t/ha above 2020," the message reads.

As of 29 July, the new crop campaign in Ukraine progressed to 37% of the projected area. The bulk yield of grains and legumes reached 24.29 mln t.

The USDA in its July report projects wheat export from Ukraine in 2021/22 at 21 mln t, corn at 30.5 mln t. Ukraine's sunflowerseed supply is projected at 16.7 mln t.
