The agricultural sector provided 40% of capital investments increase

The share of the agricultural sector in the total amount of capital investments growth in Ukraine in January-September 2016 is 39.6%.

This was reported by the Head of the National Scientific Center Investment Department in the Institute of Agrarian Economy Nikolai Kisil, according to the official website of the Scientific Centre.

According to him, the total volume of capital investments utilized in the agro-food sector in January-September 2016 amounted to 41.5 billion UAH. This exceeded by 14.8 billion UAH (55.4%) the result of the corresponding period last year.

It is noted that more than two-thirds of the capital investments growth in the agro-food sector belongs to agriculture — 11.4 billion UAH.

Scientists have calculated that the share of agriculture in the structure of capital investments in the economy of Ukraine for the first 9 months of the current year amounted to 14.3%.

"The significant increase in capital investment in agriculture in January-September this year was provided at the expense of own and borrowed funds of domestic investors, primarily large agricultural holdings", — summed up Mykola Kisil.

It was earlier reported that the profitability of agricultural production in 2016 is expected to reach 41.8%, which is 3.8% less than in 2015.
