Beef exports in Jan-Apr declined 15 percent

Ukraine in January-April 2018 exported 11.16 thou. tons of fresh and frozen beef, which is 14.51 percent less than the corresponding indicator in the year 2017.

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFS) informs that Ukraine exported 3.7 thou. tons of fresh or chilled beef (January-April 2017: 3.69 thou. tons) and 7.46 thou. tons of frozen beef (January-April 2017: 9.37 thou. tons).

The major importer of fresh and chilled beef is Belarus (USD 10.47 million), which was delivered 3.67 thou. tons (99.12 percent of the total export volume).

Frozen beef was exported to Kazakhstan (USD 7.18 million), Azerbaijan (USD 4.73 million) and Belarus (USD 4.22 million). Exports to these countries amounted to 2.29 thou. tons, 1.53 thou. tons and 1.35 thou. tons, respectively.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine and Turkey had taken measures in resolving fundamental issues related to the harmonization of the veterinary certificate for the export of Ukrainian beef.
