Rye shipments in Jul-Oct 2018/19 hit a record level

In July-October of MY2018/19, the export of rye from Ukraine amounted to 62.5 thou. tons, which is the maximum volume for this period, UkrAgroConsult reports.

For comparison, over the entire MY2017/18, 38.2 thou. tons of rye were exported from Ukraine.

In October of the current marketing year, Ukraine exported 14.7 thou. tons of rye, which is 45.5% less than in the previous month (26.9 thou. tons), but twice as much as in October 2017 (7.3 thou. tons).

The key market for Ukrainian rye is the European Union, which in the reporting period accounted for more than 68% of all exports. In the reporting period, EU countries imported 42.5 thou. tons of rye against 26.9 thou. tons for the entire MY2017/18.

Since the start of MY2018/19, as of December 12, Ukraine exported 20.41 mln tons of grain, which is 2.14 mln tons more than the indicator for the last year's comparative period.
