Grain export 2019/20: volume of commodities traded 29 pct up

Since the start of 2019/20, Ukrainian seaports have shipped 33.87 mln t of staple grains for export vs. 26.27 mln t in the prior season's comparative period.

As of Jan. 20, commodities shipment increased by 7.59 mln t (29%) from the comparative period of the previous year, the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

Grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 15.46 mln t (4.24 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.83 mln t (558 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 14.22 mln t (3.03 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 5 thou. t (76.3 thou. t less y-o-y).

Previously reported that the seaport of Pivdenny boosted grain cargo transshipment by 39.6% YoY to 10.99 mln t.
