In September-October India is supposed to import 800 thousand tons of Black Sea wheat.
This is reported by Zerno On Line.
Flour millers of India intend to replenish their reserves because the internal situation with the supply of quality grain may be tense.
In September, India should receive 247 thousand tons of wheat. This is the largest monthly import volume since February 2016.
In October, the supply up to 500 thousand tons of wheat is expected. Imported wheat, which arrives in September, should satisfy the needs of the milling industry for November-December.
In 2017, India harvested a record wheat harvest of 98.38 million tons. However, traders believe that the country will need to import more grain to accumulate necessary amount of reserves.
Let us remind, that the forecast for world grain production in 2017/18 MY increased by 18.4 million tons to 2.61 billion tons, slightly exceeding the record level of the past MY.
