From the beginning of Y2017 Ukraine produced 3 mln tons of sunflower oil

In Ukraine in January-August 2017, the production of unrefined sunflower oil amounted to 3.34 million tons, which is 38.3% higher than in the same period of Y2016.

This is reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

It is noted that in August sunflower oil production amounted to 153 thousand tons, which is 51% less than the result of the previous month, but more than 3 times higher than August 2016.

It is also reported that the volume of production of margarines and edible fats during 8 months increased by 27.8% — up to 139k tons. In August, in comparison with July, the production of margarines and fats decreased by 15%, and in comparison with August 2016 increased by 20.5% — to 13.9k tons.

Let us remind, that the export of sunflower oil in the first half of Y2017 increased by 57% compared to the same period of Y2016 and amounted to $212 million.
