5 million tons of corn threshed in Ukraine — Harvest Online 2017

As of October 6, 2017, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 5 million tons of corn from the area of 1.2 million hectares, with an average yield of 4.42 tons/ha (2016 — 5.40 tons/ha). This is evidenced by the data of the joint project Latifundist.com and AGCO Harvest Online 2017.

The forecast of harvesting areas of corn this season is 4,5 million hectares.

The harvest of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine amounted to 42,9 million tons, harvested area — 11,1 million hectares, and average productivity — 3.86 tons/ha (2016 — 4,06 tons/ha).

Sunflower harvesting was carried out on the area of 4.7 million hectares or 79% of the forecast, yields totaled 8.9 million tons, and the average productivity — 1.91 tons/ha (2016 — 2.18 tons/ha).

Soybean is harvested on the area of 1.1 million hectares or 57% of the forecasted areas, yield makes up 2.1 million tons so far, with the productivity of 1.81 tons/ha (2016 — 2.15 tons/ha).

Sugar beet is harvested at 107k hectares or 34% of the forecast, agrarians received a yield of 4.5 million tons, with the average productivity of 42.6 tons/ha (2016 — 45,5 tons/ha).

The highest yields of grains and legumes are recorded in the following regions: in Khmelnitsky — 5.60 t/ha, Ternopil — 5.25 t/ha, Chernivtsi — 5.14 t/ha, Vinnitsa — 5.02 t/ha, Ivano-Frankivsk — 4.87 t/ha, and Lviv — 4.80 t/ha.
