Belarus bans import of pork from Lvov region

Since October 12, Belarus has temporarily limited the import of pork from the Lvov region due to the disease of animals by the African swine fever (ASF).

This is reported by the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.

"In connection with the ASF, restrictions are imposed on the importation of live pigs, pork and processed products, tannery, horn-fed and intestinal raw materials, bristles, wild boar meat, hunting trophies from susceptible species of animals etc. to the territory of the Republic of Belarus from the Lvov region of Ukraine," the statement says.

Reference: in Lviv (in Grozevo village, Starosambirsky district) on September 25, for the first time disease and death of pigs due to ASF were registered.
