Winter crops are in satisfactory condition in Kherson region

Agrarians of the Kherson region estimate the current state of winter crops (wheat and rapeseed) as satisfactory.

This is reported by APK-Inform.

It is specified that winter wheat shoots are now mainly in the 2-4 leaves stage, winter rapeseed reaches the development phase of 4-5 leaves. The influence of climatic conditions on the formation and development of crops is assessed as favorable.

It is also noted that in some farms in the region, winter sowing is still in progress.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in the Kherson region by October 10, winter wheat and triticale are sown on the area of 323.8 thousand hectares (66% of the forecast), winter rapeseed — 48 thousand hectares (103% of the forecast).

According to the Latifundist.com project Sowing Online 2017/18, as of October 6, Ukrainian agrarians conducted winter wheat sowing on the area of 4.5 million hectares (74% of the forecast), winter barley — 335 thousand hectares (36% ), winter rye — 122 thousand hectares (76%). The sowing of winter rapeseed continues, the area under the crop already amounts to 805 thousand hectares (104%).
