First million tons of sugar produced from the beginning of MY 2017/18

As of October 31, agrarians processed 7.24 million tons of sugar beet and produced 1 million tons of sugar.
The National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar) reports that 40 sugar plants started sugar beet processing.
Reference: the Association forecasts 46 sugar plants to function in MY 2017/18. Projected production of sugar remains at the same level — 2 million tons.
