Last week export of grains from sea ports decreased to 500 thousand tons

In the period from November 25 to December 1, 500 thousand tons of grain were shipped for export from the Ukrainian ports, which is 33% less than the similar index a week earlier (750 thousand tons).

APK-Inform reports that the major exported crop last week was corn, shipments of which decreased to 249 thousand tons against 342 thousand tons a week earlier. Exports of wheat fell to 224 thousand tons (359 thousand tons a week earlier), barley exports decreased to 27 thousand tons (50 thousand tons a week earlier).

The TIS company shipped the largest grain volume in the reporting period — 146 thousand tons. The Danube Shipping and Stevedoring Company exported the second largest volume of grain — 118 thousand tons.

The leading importers of Ukrainian grain in the reporting week were Egypt (61 thousand tons), Morocco (60 thousand tons) and the Netherlands (50 thousand tons).

Earlier it was reported that the world wheat production in MY 2017/18 will be 749 million tons, which is 5 million tons less compared to MY 2016/17 .
