Astarta's CEO Viktor Ivanchik was awarded for innovation in agribusiness

The co-founder and CEO of agro-industrial holding Astarta-Kiev Viktor Ivanchik was awarded for innovation in agribusiness.

Magazine Novoe Vremya named Ukrainians, who set new standards in different spheres of life.

Novoe Vremya noted the CEO of Astarta in the category "For Innovations in Business".

The article notes that Astarta is the innovations headliner of the national agro-industrial complex.

"In 2012, the company of Viktor Ivanchik began processing its own production waste into biogas, and also to reduce water consumption purposefully. As a result, the bioenergy carrier replaces conventional gas by 50% at Astarta's sugar production, the agroholding consumes 16% less water and 7% less electricity," the article writes.

This year, Astarta raised a USD 25 million loan from the Dutch bank FMO for the re-equipment of sugar plants with the latest energy-saving technologies. The holding intends to create a complete cycle of water supply for its three enterprises in the Poltava region.

Also the company actively invests in precision farming technologies, which allow to increase the crop yield by reducing the consumption of fertilizers.

"Confirming his status as the main agroinnovator, Ivanchik with Evgeniy Utkin created in early 2017 the company Agro Sore, which develops an integrated IT-platform for managing agricultural and accounting operations," the article notes.
